Thanks to the many Centennial Airport Foundation donors, and supporters of the annual Centennial Airport Runway 5K community event and fundraiser, the Foundation can continue its ongoing support to existing aviation and education organizations, and now offer its own aviation scholarships. 

Three scholarships will be awarded annually. One successful candidate from each category below will receive an award of up to $10,000, which will be disbursed directly to the college or training entity.

 

Scholarship Categories


The Robert P. Olislagers Memorial Scholarship for Aviation Management

Robert was a nationally recognized leader in the aviation community and a long serving Director of Centennial Airport for over 20 years. This scholarship will be awarded in memory of Robert’s legacy of leadership, passion, and dedication to the aviation industry and development of the next generation of aviation professionals.

For students seeking an Airport/Aviation Management Degree or similar, or other professional development opportunities approved by the Foundation.

Professional Pilot

For students pursuing a career as a Professional Pilot via an Aviation Degree with a Professional Pilot concentration, or a flight school operated under FAR Part 141. 

Aircraft Maintenance/A&P Mechanic

For students pursuing a career as an Aircraft Mechanic/Technician within an Aircraft Maintenance Technician School (AMTS) operated under FAR Part 147.

 

Application Requirements


  • Applicant must be a permanent resident of Colorado and at least 17 years of age. A valid state issued Colorado ID is required as proof of residency.
  • Training institution must be Colorado based.
  • Applicant must have Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) with their institution.
  • Applicant may be required to participate in an interview with the selection committee.
  • Scholarship recipients agree to attend the June in-person Centennial Airport Board Meeting, where they will be formally acknowledged as recipients of their respective scholarships.
  • Scholarship recipients agree to have their photo and summary of their education/career goals displayed on the Centennial Airport Foundation page. 
  • Applicant must complete the Scholarship Application Form below.

Applications will be assessed for completeness and overall quality, giving weight to those showing their dedication to a career in aviation.

Scholarship Application Form 

All applicants must complete this application form and attach the following:

  • One page resume outlining work history, education, and aviation involvement.
     
  • Two letters of recommendation from individuals who can speak to your academic abilities and commitment to your aviation career (teachers, employers, aviation leaders).
     
  • A copy of current academic transcript showing GPA.
     
  • Applicants for the Professional Pilot Scholarship must submit a copy of logged flight hours.
