Airport Management Internship Program

At Centennial Airport, our interns are an integral part of what makes one of the nation's busiest general aviation airports a success.

Program Overview


Duration: 12 months

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week

Pay: $21/hour

Our Airport Management Internship can be one of the most beneficial additions to your college education and career pursuits:

  • You'll gain practical, hands-on experience 
  • Understand the internal workings of one of the busiest general aviation airports in the county
  • Make valuable industry connections

 

Areas of Experience


Our interns rotate through both Planning & Development and Airport Operations, gaining insight and experience in areas such as:

  • Emergency response coordination
  • Government, tenant, and public relations
  • Airfield/ramp inspections, maintenance, and construction
  • Airport land use and master planning
  • Snow removal operations
  • Noise abatement practices

 

Program Impact


Since 1986, more than 100 interns have completed the program. Most now work in the aviation industry in areas such as:

  • Airport Operations or Planning
  • Airport Directors
  • Aviation Consultants
  • CDOT Division of Aeronautics
  • Airlines

Notably, 12 of our current Centennial Airport Authority employees are former interns. 

 

Qualifications


Applicants must have:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or senior standing) in an aviation-related field
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Willingness to work a variety of shifts; i.e. holidays, weekends, nights
